As a syllabus of our faith the Letter to the Hebrews is without equal.
We have mighty assurances: Jesus as the perfect embodiment of the Father; His novel priesthood operating under New Covenant; the possibility of unshakable rest; Christ’s superb and stand-alone atonement for sin; the victories of patience and faith; the target of a Celestial City; the real lessons of chastening and reproach for His namesake.
The statement for special focus here is found in chapter two and verses fourteen and fifteen. Christ used His death to defeat the devil, the one who had kept us all in bondage through fear of death, loss and adversity. This deliverance establishes within us resurrection power and boldness of access to God. Beginning now!
