Harvest On the Pavement

Is this where the crop is?

A random sidewalk

A handful of Good Tracts

And hopeful faith talk?

The spring air is chilly

And so the reply

In street witness wonder

I’m here again…why?

‘Not much of a reader

Or religion’s fan

Or blessed with the time’

Passing, man after man.

They’ll save this for later

Or I’m just a flake

Or pushing some strange cult

For my reward’s sake.

But no…it is Jesus

His sweetness and power

My call on this sidewalk

Salvation this hour.

And wrath soon is coming

For ill or neglect

And He is so worthy

Of this One’s respect:

“Excuse me my Friend

A moment with you

A Word about Jesus

Your Life to renew.”
